Jalgaon : In a disturbing incident in Jalgaon district, Maharashtra, an unidentified group of miscreants targeted the Bhusaval-Nandurbar passenger train by pelting stones. According to reports, the mob gathered near the railway tracks and began their assault, causing panic among passengers.

The incident was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media. Passengers can be seen desperately shutting windows and attempting to flee the train as the stones rain down. Approximately 25 people were involved in the attack.

Railway authorities swiftly responded to the situation. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) initiated an investigation, filing a case under the Railway Act against the unknown perpetrators. Fortunately, no passengers were injured during the incident.

As of now, the miscreants remain unidentified, and the motive behind the attack is still under investigation. Authorities are also examining whether any subsequent riots occurred in the aftermath of this disturbing event.

Several questions have been raised over the safety of train passengers in with multiple incidents of trains being attacked by stone pelting coming light in various parts of India. Recently in April 2024, a case of stone-pelting was reported on a MEMU train travelling from Gwalior to Jaura. The incident happened when the train reached Birla Nagar station in Gwalior. It is worth noting that earlier, similar stone attacks were reported on the Vande Bharata Express and Shatabdi Express near Gwalior-Morena.
