With this win, CSK has come to the top of the points table with 4 points. Chennai defeated RCB in the season opener at this ground.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) emerged victorious once again in the Indian Premier League-2024, securing their second consecutive win. Their impressive 63-run victory over Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 7th match of the season propelled CSK to the top of the points table with 4 points. CSK had previously defeated RCB in the season opener at the same venue.

Chasing a target of 207 runs at the Chepauk Stadium, Gujarat could only score 143 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Earlier, batting first, Chennai scored 206 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Rachin Ravindra (46 off 20 balls) and Shivam Dubey (51 off 23 balls) played explosive innings, while captain Ruturaj Gawkwad contributed 46 runs off 36 balls. Rashid Khan got two wickets.

For Gujarat, Sai Sudharsan was the top scorer with 37 runs. Wriddhiman Saha and David Miller scored 21-21 runs. The rest of the batter couldn’t do much. For Chennai, Deepak Chahar, Mustafizur Rahman and Tushar Deshpande took 2-2 wickets.
