Pashupati Paras became MP in 2019

In 2019, Pashupati Paras became MP by winning the Lok Sabha elections from the Hajipur seat. After this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave him a place in his cabinet and made him a minister at the Centre. But, in the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024, BJP gave preference to nephew Chirag Paswan and ignored Pashupati Kumar Paras.

Pashupati Kumar Paras came in contact with RJD

According to sources, Pashupati Kumar Paras, disappointed by not securing a place within the NDA, has aligned with the RJD. Discussions have also been underway regarding the allocation of five seats. It is likely that seats, including Hajipur, will be allocated to Chirag Paswan’s party within the NDA. Simultaneously, Pashupati Kumar Paras may receive seats within the grand alliance.

This suggests that Uncle Pashupati Kumar will field candidates in constituencies where Chirag plans to field his own. Pashupati Kumar Paras is scheduled to arrive in Patna from Delhi on Tuesday, with many details expected to be clarified. Additionally, he may hold a press conference in Patna on Wednesday.

Did not meet Nitish Kumar

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reached Delhi from Bihar on Monday evening. It was expected that Pashupati Kumar Paras would meet the CM after he arrived in Delhi. However, now there is no possibility of a meeting between these two prominent leaders.

Will contest elections from Hajipur only?

During a press conference held in Delhi on Monday evening, the NDA officially announced the distribution of seats. The National LJP had been eagerly awaiting this announcement. Pashupati Kumar Paras had previously stated in a press conference in Delhi on Friday that he was awaiting the official announcement. He affirmed his intention to contest the elections specifically from the Hajipur seat. However, whether he will run independently or align with the grand alliance remains uncertain. He refrained from addressing this question during the press conference. According to the party’s national spokesperson, Devjani Mitra, a meeting will be convened soon to decide on the next course of action.
