The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a tender for the construction of the final 40.58 km stretch of the Patna-Bettiah 4-lane project, spanning from Areraj to Gurwalia Biswas in Bihar. The development of this critical section of NH-139W will take place under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) with a total estimated cost of ₹1,050.49 crore.
The scope of work includes four-laning the existing road, construction of bridges, culverts, and other essential infrastructure. The project is set to enhance regional connectivity and improve transport links as part of the national East-West corridor initiative. Once completed, this road is expected to facilitate smoother travel between Bihar and the rest of India.
NHAI has set a project completion timeline of 730 days from the date of the contract award. Interested parties are required to submit their bids through the e-procurement portal by September 6, 2024. Technical bids will be opened on September 7, 2024, with financial bids to follow on a later date.
In addition to boosting connectivity, the project is expected to generate employment opportunities and stimulate economic growth in the region.
