Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) clinched their maiden victory in the Indian Premier League-2024 (IPL) by defeating Punjab Kings by a margin of 21 runs at their home ground in the 11th match of the ongoing season.

On Saturday, at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium, Lucknow won the toss and opted to bat first, achieving a total of 199 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Punjab’s team managed to score 178 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the same duration. Notable performances included Shikhar Dhawan scoring 70 runs off 50 balls and Johnny Bairstow contributing 42 runs off 29 balls. During his debut match, 21-year-old fast bowler Mayank Yadav claimed 3 wickets, while Mohsin Khan secured 2 wickets. Mayank’s fastest delivery of the match clocked at 156 KMPH, marking it as the season’s quickest delivery.

The pacer representing Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) grabbed attention with an impressive delivery recorded at 155.8 kmph during the 12th over of the game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Ekana Sports City in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday. Following his outstanding performance against PBKS, Mayank Yadav has become a focal point of discussion on social media.

Lucknow set Punjab a formidable target at the Ekana Stadium, with the team posting 199 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Quinton de Kock notched up a half-century, scoring 54 runs off 38 balls, with captain Nicholas Puran contributing 42 runs off 21 balls. Krunal Pandya remained unbeaten on 43 runs from 22 deliveries. Sam Curran claimed three wickets, while Arshdeep Singh secured two dismissals.
