Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) secured their second consecutive victory in the Indian Premier League-2024 (IPL) by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by a margin of 28 runs in the 15th match of the ongoing season. The game took place on Tuesday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Lucknow posted a total of 181 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In response, the Bengaluru-based team was dismissed for 153 runs in 19.4 overs while playing at their home ground.

Mayank Yadav claimed three wickets for LSG, with Quinton de Kock contributing 81 runs off 56 balls. Nicholas Puran added 40 runs to the scoreboard, while Marcus Stoinis and captain KL Rahul scored 24 and 20 runs respectively.

Fastest to Reach 4000 Runs in IPL

Quinton de Kock reached the milestone of 3000 runs in the IPL after completing these runs in 99 innings. Meanwhile, Chris Gayle holds the record for the fastest 4000 runs in the IPL.

LSG’s fast bowler Mayank Yadav created quite a stir at the Chinnaswamy Stadium by delivering the fastest ball of the tournament, registering an impressive speed of 156.7kph against RCB. His exceptionally swift delivery left both the batsman and the spectators in utter amazement. Prior to this remarkable feat, Mayank had already garnered attention in previous matches by unleashing nine deliveries over 150 kph in a single game. Such outstanding performance has propelled him into the spotlight as one of the most talked-about bowlers in the league, earning him a well-deserved place in the record books for his remarkable speed.

This marks Bengaluru’s third defeat in the tournament, following losses to Chennai and Kolkata. Their sole victory so far was against Punjab. In contrast, Lucknow had secured a victory against Punjab earlier, but suffered a loss against Rajasthan in their inaugural match.
