HSCC India Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NBCC (India) Limited, has been officially appointed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, as the executing agency for the construction of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Darbhanga, Bihar. This significant project, valued at approximately ₹1,261 crore, is poised to become one of the largest healthcare initiatives currently underway in the country.

AIIMS Darbhanga is designed to provide high-quality medical education and tertiary care services to a vast population at minimal cost. The project will include a fully equipped tertiary care hospital, a state-of-the-art medical college, an AYUSH hospital, and comprehensive accommodations for students and staff. Spanning across 188 acres, the facility will have over 2.25 lakh square meters of constructed area. The project is expected to be completed within 36 months, marking a major leap forward in healthcare accessibility and medical education in the region.

This initiative is part of the Indian government’s broader vision to establish a network of AIIMS across the country, with the aim of improving healthcare quality and accessibility nationwide. Announced in 2019, AIIMS Darbhanga is set to become a premier medical institution, addressing the healthcare needs of Bihar. Once operational, it will provide advanced medical education and training, along with specialized outpatient and inpatient care, diagnostic services, and research opportunities.

The institute will play a key role in developing a robust healthcare infrastructure in Bihar, contributing to better healthcare outcomes and fostering the growth of medical professionals in the region. The facility is expected to cater to a wide array of healthcare demands, ultimately benefiting the local population.
