In a joint press conference held at the RJD office in Patna, the Grand Alliance in Bihar disclosed the allocation of seats among its constituent parties. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is set to contest 26 seats, while the Indian National Congress secured 9 seats, and the Left parties obtained 5 seats. Within the Left contingent, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) will field candidates in 3 seats, the Communist Party of India (CPI) in Begusarai, and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Khagaria.

A significant point of contention arose over the Purnia constituency, now claimed by the RJD, thereby eliminating Pappu Yadav’s candidacy. Bima Bharti, who transitioned from the Janata Dal United (JDU) to the RJD, has been nominated as the Grand Alliance’s candidate for this seat.

The distribution of seats marks a departure from the previous Lok Sabha elections, where the RJD contested 19 seats and the Congress 9 seats, while the Left parties fielded candidates in 6 constituencies.

The finalized seat allocation follows three days of deliberation among RJD and Congress leaders in Delhi. Notable attendees at the press conference included Tejashwi Yadav, who remains in Delhi, alongside RJD state president Jagdanand Singh, Congress state president Akhilesh Prasad Singh, and RJD leaders Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Shyam Rajak, Uday Narayan Chaudhary, and Dhirendra Jha.
