Election Commission Issues Warning to Supriya Shrinet and Dilip Ghosh, Vows to Monitor Statements

The Delhi Election Commission has cautioned Congress leader Supriya Srinet and BJP leader Dilip Ghosh. The Commission stated that it will closely monitor the remarks made by both leaders. Additionally, the Commission affirmed that both leaders had breached the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct by engaging in derogatory personal attacks.

After receiving a response to the notice regarding Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations, the commission stated in its order that it is satisfied that a personal attack was made, thereby breaching the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct. The individual has been cautioned to exercise caution in public statements during the Model Code of Conduct. Henceforth, the Commission will subject his election-related speeches to special and additional monitoring.

A duplicate of the warning notice has been dispatched to the party presidents. This is to ensure they can instruct their office bearers to exercise caution when delivering speeches in public and to refrain from making any derogatory remarks or violating MCC guidelines.

Supriya Shrinet’s Response to Controversial Comments on Social Media

Controversy stirred when remarks regarding Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut surfaced on the social media profile of Congress leader Supriya Shrinet. It’s worth noting that the BJP has nominated Kangana as its candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Following the uproar caused by the comments, Supriya Shrinet promptly deleted the contentious statement from all her social media platforms. Furthermore, Supriya asserted that the controversial post attributed to her social media account was not authored by her, but rather by someone else, as numerous individuals have access to her account.

Controversial Comments by BJP Leader on Mamata Banerjee

Dilip Ghosh, a leader of the BJP, made disparaging comments about the family background of Mamata Banerjee, the President of the Trinamool Congress and Chief Minister of West Bengal, in a statement. As the situation intensified, he subsequently offered an apology for his contentious remarks directed at the Chief Minister of West Bengal.
