The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Delhi’s Minister of Transport and Environment, Kailash Gahlot, in connection with a money laundering case related to the excise policy. This development comes amidst allegations of corruption and irregularities in the excise policy, with the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Delhi President, Virendraa Sachdeva, suggesting the involvement of AAP leaders, including the Chief Minister, in the matter.
According to Virendraa Sachdeva, “In the excise policy, the AAP leader along with the CM was involved; ED is doing its work. New characters will come out in the liquor scam, whoever has committed corruption needs to be answerable.”
The summons to Minister Gahlot is part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged money laundering activities linked to the excise policy. The ED is expected to question Gahlot regarding his role and any potential involvement in the alleged irregularities.
The excise policy in question has been under scrutiny for alleged corruption and mismanagement. The BJP has been vocal in its criticism of the AAP government in Delhi, accusing it of corruption and demanding accountability from those involved.
The AAP government, on the other hand, has denied any wrongdoing and has stated that it is committed to transparency and accountability in its governance.
The summons to Minister Gahlot and the ongoing investigation by the ED underscore the seriousness of the allegations surrounding the excise policy in Delhi. The outcome of the investigation is likely to have significant implications for the political landscape in the national capital.
