ITI Limited, India’s first public sector undertaking post-independence and a leading telecom manufacturing company, has received an order worth approximately ₹300 crore from the Bihar Renewable Energy Development Authority (BREDA). The order is for the supply and installation of 1,00,000 Solar Street Light Systems for the Bihar State Government, in addition to the 80,000 solar street light systems the company is currently executing in Bihar for BREDA.
ITI Limited’s Naini Plant, which has been manufacturing solar panels for the past six years, will fulfill the order under the “Mukhyamantri Gramin Solar Street Light Yojana.” The districts covered by this order include Gopalgunj, Siwan, Samastipur, Purnia, Araria, Gaya, Darbhanga, Patna, Katihar, and Khagaria. The installation will be supervised by BREDA, and the main components of the Solar Street Light Systems are Solar PV Modules, Solar Batteries, LED Luminaries, Mounting Structures, and the Balance of System (BOS).

Recently, ITI Limited also won its first Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) order from the State Election Commission (SEC) of West Bengal for the supply of Electronic Voting Machines following a successful demonstration to the SEC at Kolkata.
