The Water Resources Department, Government of Bihar, has announced an invitation for experienced consulting firms to submit their expression of interest (EOI) for providing comprehensive consultancy services for the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) on the transfer of Ganga floodwater to various reservoirs in South Bihar, including Morway, Baskund, Anjan, Garhi, Jalkund, and others.
Interested consultants are required to upload or submit their proposals between August 26, 2024, and September 6, 2024, until 15:00 hrs (IST). The offers will be opened at 16:30 hrs on September 6, 2024.
The consultancy’s objective is to conduct detailed site investigations, surveys, and data collection, perform feasibility studies to assess the project’s technical, economic, and environmental aspects, and analyze sustainability considerations, including long-term operational and maintenance strategies.
The work will also involve comprehensive hydrological and hydraulic studies, developing design and engineering drawings for the water transfer system and associated infrastructure, conducting cost estimation and financial analysis, and performing comprehensive social and environmental studies, including impact assessments and mitigation strategies.
The consultants will create accurate hydraulic models and simulations, culminating in the preparation of a DPR that includes all findings, designs, models, and recommendations for project implementation.
The DPR must align with the best practices and regulatory standards and will be prepared following the prevailing guidelines of the Central Water Commission (CWC) and the Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoJS), Government of India. The consulting firms will also assist in obtaining techno-economic clearance from the CWC.
