She clarified that Anand has been relieved of his responsibilities within the party until he attains ‘political maturity’. Anand was initially designated as Mayawati’s successor in December 2023.

Mayawati’s post on social media platform X stated: “In addition to elevating other individuals within the party, I previously appointed Shri Akash Anand as the National Coordinator and my successor. However, considering the paramount interests of the party and the movement, he will be temporarily relieved of these significant roles until he achieves full maturity.”

Mayawati said the “leadership of BSP remains steadfast in its commitment to making any necessary sacrifice for the betterment of the party and the advancement of the movement, while ensuring the continuation of Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy.”

Furthermore, she clarified that Akash’s father, Anand Kumar, will continue to fulfill his duties within the party.
