Union Minister Anurag Thakur has strongly criticized the Congress manifesto, denouncing it as a compilation of false claims and promises. Thakur asserted that amidst the political landscape, the sole guarantee in the country remains Prime Minister Modi’s assurance.

Thakur’s Critique

According to Thakur, “The manifesto of Congress is just a bundle of false claims and promises. Congress has only deceived the country in the last 60 years and that is why the public is not going to be misled by them now.”

He further emphasized, “Bharatiya Janata Party does what it says, whereas Congress only says and does nothing.”

Comparison with BJP’s Performance

Thakur highlighted BJP’s track record, stating, “We had said that Articles 370 and 35 would be removed from Jammu and Kashmir; they were removed. We had said that we will implement CAA, we implemented it. We had said that we will build Ram temple, Ram temple was also built.”

Job Creation and Poverty Alleviation

Responding to Congress’s job guarantee, Thakur pointed out the Modi government’s achievements, stating, “In the last one year, Modi government has given 10 lakh government jobs.” He also highlighted initiatives such as providing free rations to 80 crore poor people, constructing 12 crore toilets, offering Ujjwala connections to 10 crore women, and providing tap water to more than 14 crore people. Additionally, health insurance up to Rs 5 lakh has been provided to 60 crore poor individuals.

Strengthening Democracy

Thakur refuted Congress’s claim of democracy being in jeopardy, asserting, “Democracy has become stronger under the BJP’s rule.” He cited examples such as holding Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir and criticized Congress for imposing emergency while claiming to safeguard democracy.

Closing Remarks

Thakur condemned Congress’s manifesto as mere rhetoric, contrasting it with BJP’s tangible accomplishments. He reiterated BJP’s commitment to fulfilling promises and criticized Congress for its failure to deliver on past pledges.
