Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy sternly criticized the tri-party alliance comprising TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena in the state, accusing them of banding together to thwart his government’s endeavors toward social justice.
Addressing a public gathering, Jagan asserted, “Social justice and empowerment are only achievable under the Jagan government. Significant strides have been made for the welfare of weaker sections during my tenure.”
“We have accomplished remarkable milestones, with 99% of the promises made in our manifesto fulfilled. We hold our manifesto in reverence akin to the Quran, Bible, and Bhagavad Gita. I am delighted to share the advancements made for the weaker sections. Our leaders and volunteers have tirelessly worked to implement welfare schemes,” he added.
Undeterred by the alliance’s opposition, Jagan affirmed his commitment to fulfilling his electoral pledges. “An alliance has been forged against us to seize power, akin to wolves hunting in packs. I stand alone in this forthcoming battle. Chandrababu Naidu, Janasena, BJP, and Congress are all aligned against me. They have united in an attempt to thwart me. However, I fear none of them,” he declared.
Highlighting the government’s efforts, Jagan mentioned the distribution of 2 lakh 70 crores rupees through direct benefit transfers to women in the state. “We have initiated schemes such as EBC, Nestham, Amma Vodi, YSR Asara, Cheyutha, among others, for the welfare and empowerment of women. Additionally, the construction of medical colleges, seaports, and harbours is underway,” he stated.
Accusing the alliance of betraying the public, Jagan urged the weaker sections to stand against them in elections. “The TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena have repeatedly betrayed the people of the state. Now, they have joined forces again to deceive them. They are solely interested in seizing power to exploit the state’s treasury. Chandrababu Naidu has no concern for BC, SC, ST, or minorities; he has only ever exploited them,” he alleged.
Jagan emphasized the importance of voting for continued welfare schemes. “If beneficiaries desire the continuation of these schemes, they must ensure my return to power. With another term, volunteers will continue to deliver pensions and welfare schemes at their doorstep,” he assured.
The Andhra Pradesh Assembly comprises 175 seats, with 88 seats required to form a government. In the 2014 and 2019 Assembly elections, the YSRCP emerged victorious with a significant majority. As the nation gears up for the Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to commence on April 19, the political landscape in Andhra Pradesh remains fervent.
