In a significant development, the Supreme Court has granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh, sparking fresh controversy over the alleged targeting of AAP leaders. Following the bail decision, AAP leader Atishi spoke out, accusing authorities of framing party members in false cases.

Atishi remarked, “We saw how since the last two years, AAP leaders are being framed and arrested in false cases.” She highlighted two crucial points from the court proceedings that shed light on the case against Sanjay Singh. Firstly, when the Supreme Court asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) about the money trail, the ED reportedly had no answer. Secondly, Atishi claimed that the entire case of the alleged Excise Policy Scam, which involved the ED, relied on statements from approvers. She stated, “The first few statements given by these approvers were not considered because they did not name AAP leaders. They were pressurised and arrested till they did not name our party leaders.”

The bail granted to Sanjay Singh and Atishi’s comments have reignited debates about the impartiality of law enforcement agencies and the alleged targeting of AAP leaders. Atishi’s remarks suggest a concerted effort to implicate AAP members through coercive means.

The Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail to Sanjay Singh underscores the need for a thorough examination of the case and raises questions about the evidence presented against AAP leaders. The allegations of pressure on approvers to implicate AAP members also raise concerns about the fairness of the investigation.

As the legal proceedings continue, the spotlight remains on the treatment of AAP leaders and the integrity of the investigative process. Atishi’s assertions reflect a growing sentiment within the AAP of being unfairly targeted, adding a new dimension to the ongoing legal battle.
